Landing: “We’ve already rolled out more than 80 lockers”
Griffis Seattle Waterfront, one of Landing’s apartments in Seattle
Landing is a unique apartment renting service which offers fully furnished apartments across the United States for an annual membership fee of $200.
Tenants can choose from any of the 20,000 fully furnished apartments, with a minimum length of stay of 30 days. What sets Landing apart is the flexibility offered by their large network of properties. In case a tenant needs to move to another city, they can give a few days' notice and find a new apartment through Landing, making the process seamless and simple.
Landing Standby is the company’s newest rental service, enabling tenants to live in an apartment for a fixed monthly fee of $1,495, regardless of the usual rent price - provided there’s no other tenant keen to live in the space. Landing is the perfect option for remote workers or anyone who wants the freedom to live in different cities across the country in a flexible way.

Over the years, Landing has relied on KeyNest to support this model, using KeyNest Points to securely store and exchange keys in many of their markets. This has been especially valuable in urban areas, where traditional storage methods can be difficult, and has played an important role in supporting the company’s rapid growth.
As Landing continues to expand, they’ve now taken the next step by introducing KeyNest Lockers - adding even greater scalability and flexibility to their key management.
How did Landing start using KeyNest Lockers?
Landing has been a long-term user of KeyNest Points, relying on them to provide secure and flexible key storage across many of their markets. Building on this success, the company recently decided to extend the partnership by adopting KeyNest Lockers alongside Points, ordering 80 lockers and counting to support their growing operations.
We spoke to Christopher Cobb, Landing’s Access Manager, about this transition:
“At Landing, we’ve been relying on KeyNest Points for years in markets like Seattle, Denver, Texas, and Florida. They’ve always been reliable and made key exchange much easier, especially in busy urban areas where it can be tricky to keep keys secure. Based on that experience, we decided to add KeyNest Lockers as well to our operations to get extra scalability and flexibility in managing access for tenants, cleaners, and installers. We’ve already rolled out more than 80 lockers.”
Why key management with KeyNest Lockers?
With lockboxes increasingly facing restrictions in cities around the world, and smart locks still costly to install at scale, KeyNest provides a secure, flexible alternative.
Over the years, Landing has relied on KeyNest Points to securely store and exchange keys across many of their markets. Building on that success, they introduced KeyNest Lockers to gain even more advantages as their operations continued to scale.
Cobb explains:
“With KeyNest Lockers, we can manage access even more efficiently. Collecting a key takes less than five seconds with the tap-and-go NFC system, and we can set up custom access for different people depending on the job they need to do. The different locker sizes also give us the flexibility to store not just keys, but access cards and other items. For us, it’s a simple, fast, and reliable way to handle check-ins and day-to-day operations.
Also, the dashboard is really easy to use. Our team can just drop off or collect keys straight away, no training is needed and everything feels intuitive”.
What support does KeyNest provide to Landing?
KeyNest services come with complimentary 24/7 Customer Support, and for major clients like Landing, this extends to a dedicated Account Manager service. The company works closely with KeyNest Operations Manager, Violetta, communicating via Slack to request new locations or solve any last-minute issues that arise.
Cobb highlights the impact of this close collaboration:
“Violetta has done a terrific job of meeting most of our requirements quickly, even in challenging areas. I feel like I can send her a request on Slack any time of day, and she just never fails to deliver.”
How was the KeyNest experience so far?
Christopher Cobb sums up the experience in a few words:
“Overall, the process of obtaining and using the Lockers has been very straightforward. Installation only takes about 30 minutes, and once set up, they’ve run smoothly. Even when small glitches occur, having a dedicated account manager makes it easy to resolve issues quickly. Before adding Lockers, we’d already had a very positive experience with KeyNest Points, and together they’ve been invaluable in helping us scale, and reduce friction with our properties.”
